Pocket Full of Ideas

This and That

What happened to the most successful website that Parkdale had ever produced?

It is a Tale of Greed of Drunken Rages, of Forbidden love with Dinosaurs

It all started in the heady days of the Year 2000. The world had struggled through the Millennium bug, by, well doing absolutely nothing, however the resulting surplus of Heinz Baked Beans and Stagg Tinned Chilli resulted in the great gas crisis of January 2000. But through this entire time one thing held true - The Pocket Full of Ideas website -  The most entertaining, well designed
and humorous website this side of the Australian Government's - The GST and how
it will cure world hunger.' website.

But then, what happened? All of a Sudden the site fell into disrepair, The witty rants and wacky debates stopped and the public were left out in the Cold. it had all became too hard for the Pocket Team - all the years of heartache and pressure had finally caught up with them.

Whilst, on the facade the Pocket was a happy place, full of laughter and joking, behind the scenes it was anything but. In the Winter of 1999 - and pivotal member of the team was struck by disaster - and it wasn't Shane losing his hair. No. It was Funky Dee - She was lounging on a beach in Fiji, sipping Pina Coladas and beating off men with a stick, when suddenly out of the bushes emerged a
group of violent, yet fashionably attired group of Fijian Rebels.

Sensing the power that the Pocket held in shaping public perceptions, particularly in the stunning South Pacific Island, they held Dee hostage in return for positive editorial comment on the idyllic hamlet of Fiji. But the Pocket did not cave in - our morals - just like the cliffs along the coral coast
- just 10 minutes from Suva - were strong and could not be shaken. - We would not post favourable comments about Fiji - the best little country in the world.

So after two months of fruitless negotiations The remaining pocket members - Leon, Secret Agent Shane May and Zayne launched an attack to free their captured team mate. Whilst Zayne distracted the kidnapper by putting his dirty dancing moves on them Shane and Leon, pounced and freed Dee. The team was once again reunited and The Pocket could continue.

However all was not right - as the website struggled on - seemingly happy, behind the scenes it was all falling apart. Zayne, enamoured with the power of his dirty dancing in the Fijian Jungles realised his calling was not in the written word, but rather in the entertainment field - and he left the pocket.
Shane buoyed by his daring rescue joined the French foreign legion - realising, he was neither French, nor Foreign the Australian Arm of the Legion threw him out - it lead to many months of personal searching and eventually a Coke problem - his Pocket work suffered, and Leon was forced to sack him. Deanne's tale is the saddest of all - She never recovered mentally from the Fijian experience - and went quite Mad - She was put on sick leave for what was to become the last
ever update in the hope she would recover, but she never did. Leon, having lost his team, decided to abandon the pocket and become and artist.

So The Pocket fell in disrepair as our four soldiers parted ways - But now it Leon has decided to re-embrace the site and reinvigorate it. "I decided I owed it to the People - Everyday small children run up to me and ask - What happened to Emily and Alex?' I felt I owed to the children to see this thing through - to update the site. "

So what now for The Pocket? - Will it become the strength it once was again - will it once again be the premier Website in the Sunny Parkdale Region, and title currently held by Aunty Mavis' House 'O' Porn. Or will in fall apart again, leaving The Pocket as a story of genius cut down to early - like Faulty Towers, The Late Show and Gilles Villenueve.

"Well I like to think Zayne will see this in a seedy internet cafe and come back, and Shane, in his Coke den, and Dee, poor Dee, in the Mental Hospital, I hope one day - they see this - Smile and realise it is time to get the Pocket Family back together." Said a tearful Leon Sammartino as he signed over the movie rites for The Pocket Story.
